Fig Tree Did You Know?

The other day I spent the morning cutting the grass
growing around the fig tree.

"Figs are by nature best suited to warm climates.

Growing them in gardens is easy in Zone 8 and warmer."

Some of us found out about the fig tree
when we read in the Bible about Prophet Jesus
(May Allah's peace and blessing be upon him)
cursing the fig tree.

But, did you know? ...
That there are varieties of fig trees and
"They are routinely declared to be one of the oldest
of all cultivated plants, dating back to the
Neolithic period, more then 11,000 years ago.
Certainly they predate the farming of wheat, and other cereals," ....
Quotes from the book "Grow Fruit" Alan Buckingham
