Iceburg Lettuce Flowers

These lettuces bolted. They grew tall and the leaves became bitter.

They grew flowers and started forming seeds

  Bolting can happen if the weather is too hot

or lack of water.  

More yellow flowers bloomed in the Iceburg lettuce plants.

Pictured below;

Seeds are attached to white "furies" that

are next to the yellow flowers.

I just read the description of its seeds as ..."tiny seeds, often with a feathery "parachute" attached.

Too hard to see the seeds in picture below but what is shown are the yellow flowers and the white feathery "parachute" that the seeds are attached to.

Looks like Butter Crunch Lettuce flowers and seed feathery "parachutes."
