Herb: Basil plant before flowering/seeding |

Basil plant flowered and seeding. |
The other day I harvested some basil seed clusters.
This morning I took some pictures of the little openings of the Basil seed clusters to see parts of some of the Basil's seeds. The seeds are usually black color sometimes brown.
Can you see
part of the seeds in their clusters
in the pictures below?
I noticed when gathering the basil seeds
that there are about 4 seeds per individual cluster.
Sometimes the when the clusters are green the seeds might not be developed fully yet, or they fell out of their clusters since the green leafy part is not closed as much as when the leaves had turned brown and dry. Or so it seems.

Basil seed clusters on stems with leaves. If you save your basil seeds by leaving them on the stems in their clusters, store them where any seeds that fall out of their cluster can be collected. |
If you don't want to leave the seed clusters on their stems
you can cut the stem area of each cluster
and store the seed clusters in a container.

Some Basil seeds with their clusters in container and on their stems. |
You can also (especially if you don't have
much space to put seed containers)

Basil seeds without or with their seed clusters. |
You can remove the seeds from their clusters,
this will enable you to use a
smaller seed saving container.
